Never say "I love you" unless you mean it.
Give each other time and space to be yourself. You don't have
to spend every minute in each others pockets.
Keep in touch with friends. Even though its hard when you have
a new love in your life make sure your friends don't suffer and
miss them too much. Introducing your new love to your friends
can be more nerve wracking than meeting their parents!
If you sense something isn't right. Ask. Don't assume everything
is hunky dory. It might have been just a bad day at work. But
it might not.
If its over its over. Try not to cry in front of them. For your
own self-respect if nothing else. Be strong. Plenty more fish
in the sea and you never did like that jumper they used to wear
either.
Don't keep a diary and let them read it. Its poison! A diary
should be private and personal. Never read someone else's diary
even if they're not looking.
Not everyone you date will be the perfect partner.
Find fun things out about each other, but don't make it your
mission to grill them and interogate them at every chance. |
